Here’s where I’m going to tell you not to choose your room simply because one rendering looks prettier than another. At Lakeshore Lodge, the room type you choose can completely change the way your family vacations.
If you’re a couple or spending most of your days in the parks, take a serious look at the Resort King Room or Duo Studio. You may not need all that extra space — and I’d rather see you put that money toward another night, great dining, or something special during the trip.
For a family of three or four, compare the Resort Queen Room and Deluxe Studio carefully. They may accommodate a similar-sized family, but the layout and amenities are different. Sometimes those little differences matter much more than the view.
Once you move into the 1- and 2-Bedroom Villas, though, the conversation changes. Separate bedrooms, real living space, a full kitchen and your own washer and dryer can be a complete game changer — especially with kids, longer stays or grandparents traveling with you.
And if you’re bringing the whole crew? That 3-Bedroom Grand Villa was practically made for the big multigenerational Disney trip where everyone wants to be together without being too together.
Then there are the Lake Houses.
These are the rooms I think people are going to fall completely in love with. They’re freestanding A-frame retreats right along Bay Lake, with their own porch, full kitchen and that incredible connection to the water. If Lakeshore Lodge itself is a major part of why you’re taking this vacation — and your budget allows it — this is where I’d be very tempted to splurge.
And yes, there’s even the Hidden Willow Presidential Suite for the ultimate “we are doing Disney all the way” vacation.
My advice? Tell your Axis advisor how your family actually travels before you tell them which room you think you want. How many people are coming? Who needs privacy? Are you staying five nights or ten? Will you cook breakfast? Do you need laundry? Are the kids napping?
The best room isn’t necessarily the biggest or most expensive one.
It’s the one that makes your particular family’s vacation easier.
